Susan Hanes is a ceramic artist whose specialty is cute and whimsical pieces with inspiration from her Japanese heritage and nature. Many of her pieces have a more "natural" or naked clay finish with minimal glaze. She loves the interplay of the naked clay with the fluidity of the glaze. She also specializes in raku, both the Japanese as well as American style raku. She loves the interaction of the different elements and testing limits on creation.
