Art doesn’t have to be perfect.
It just has to be yours.
who we are
At Nendo Studio Hawaiʻi, we strive to create a vibrant ceramic arts community through education, sharing of the art, and connection. We believe in the transformative power of art and strive to provide resources that inspire creativity and collaboration among artists, educators, and the local community.
Our mission is to enrich lives, build lasting relationships, and celebrate the beauty of the timeless art form of clay.
what we do
-
We offer a variety of wheel throwing and handbuilding workshops and classes both in and out of the studio, teaching all skill levels and various techniques that can be applied to your own art.
In addition, we specialize in alternate forms of firings like raku and coordinate woodfiring workshop trips to Japan.
-
We strive to make ceramics accessible to everyone, connecting people through our love of clay.
We’re thankful to have the opportunity to build community by working on non-profit group events and partnerships with the State of Hawaii Department of Education Fine Art Program.
We encourage members and all potters to participate in Clay Hui Hawai’i, an open, community-centered gathering for clay artists, educators, and enthusiasts.
-
We love seeing familiar faces in our studio (new ones too) and recognize the need for a safe space for creativity and inclusivity.
We aspire to learn and grow together inside and outside the studio by participating in community events and art shows throughout the islands and beyond.
