Born and raised in Hawai'i, Dee Oliva is a multifaceted ceramicist with diverse interests. Dee’s use of bold lines with her comic book style comes from a childhood spent drawing and painting. After taking ceramics as an elective in college, she stumbled upon a unique way to blend the 2D and 3D world. Creating sculptures to bring her drawings to life, she found that clay is the ultimate canvas. Dee earned a BFA in Ceramics from UH Manoa in 2012. Since then her animal pots and love of cats remain a steady feature of her work.
